Uncertainty weighing you down?

We’ve got answers to your FAQs

How much does therapy cost?

We offer a range from $140 to $180 USD for individuals and $175 to $200 USD for couples, asking folks to choose a price that feels sustainable for them. We also offer superbills you can submit to your insurance if they reimburse for out-of-network therapy.

Do you take insurance?

We don’t bill insurance directly. Some plans offer out-of-network reimbursement through a big receipt called a superbill, which we can provide. It’s worth noting that using insurance (even through superbill reimbursement) means getting a formal mental health diagnosis on your permanent medical record. Especially these days, when being on a list can carry real consequences, paying out of pocket gives you more control over the process and most importantly your privacy.

Do I work with both of you or just one?

Just one! During the intake call, we’ll help figure out who’s the best fit based on what you’re looking for.

What is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist?

It’s a licensed mental health clinician trained to diagnose and treat individuals, couples, and families. The licensure process takes about nine years: a bachelor’s degree, master’s in clinical counseling psychology, then 3,000 supervised clinical hours, and multiple licensing exams. Despite the name, LMFTs don’t only work with couples or families. In fact, the majority of clients come for individual therapy.

If I’m paying for my young person’s sessions, will I know what they’re saying?

Not really. Therapy only works if they feel like it’s private. We’ll fill you in on safety issues, but the goal is to build trust.

How do I pay?

We accept credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, PayPal, and Venmo. We only accept e-transfer for our clients based in Canada.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Less than 24 hours’ notice or a no-show means you still pay the full fee, unless it’s an emergency. If we cancel on you within 24 hours, you get a free late-cancel pass to use anytime.
